BioRight, now what the fuck am I supposed to put in here?
I'm a cynical third year student of Japanese living in glorious London, that sometimes-sunny onetime centre of the world, now slightly older and wiser, beset by an aging transport network and an oft-indifferent populace - Oh, how I love the Tube!
If you're still reading, you've gathered that I'm a little weird. Other people just call me British, but I'd be doing this great nation a grand disservice if I blamed it all on Blighty. Some of it is actually just me.
It's hard being dreamy and idealistic yet bitter and cynical in the same day, sometimes in the same morning. It's likely attributable to overdosing on sugar, but I'm damned if I'm going to do anything about that now.
My interest keywords give some idea of what makes me tick - I'm a big music man, playing the piano and singing more than is perhaps necessary, and listening to anything from ABBA to Aerosmith, Michelle Branch to Muse - and quite a bit in between. I also photograph, extensively, and my deviantart gallery has some of my better shots on display.
I compute, insofar as I may redefine the meaning of that term. I'm big on Macs, having made the switch not long before opening this LiveJournal account in 2002, and have never looked back - it's all a spare-time UNIX hacker could want. Otherwise, I try to use OpenBSD, but sometimes, with a certain reluctance, end up using Linux, with regard to which I hold a certain ambivalence.
I muse on anything that piques my curiosity really - Japan, UNIX, law, IP, Apple - I'm a long way from being in any way coherent about the theme of this collection of ramblings.
